Everything people
usually ask
From the Windows warning on first run to checking the file. Didn't find it here? Write to [email protected].
Why does Windows say it protected my PC?
That's SmartScreen, a Windows filter that's wary of any program that still has few downloads or no paid certificate. folga is new, so the warning shows up the first time.
To continue, click More info and then Run anyway. That only allows this file; it doesn't turn off any Windows protection.

My antivirus complained about folga. Now what?
Some antivirus programs are wary of new programs that clean files and change Windows settings, even when they only do what they say.
First check the file (see How do I check that the file is genuine). If the hash matches, you can allow folga in your antivirus. For a second opinion, upload the file to VirusTotal (virustotal.com), which scans it with dozens of antivirus engines at once.
Never turn off your whole antivirus to install anything, folga included. And if you think it's a false alarm, let us know through the contact at the bottom of the page.
Why does folga ask for administrator rights?
Cleaning Windows temp files, changing which programs open at startup, switching the power plan and adjusting game settings are all things Windows protects. Without administrator rights, folga could only look.
The permission doesn't let folga do anything on its own: before anything is deleted or uninstalled you see the list of what's going, and anything that can be undone stays in the history, in Settings.
How do I uninstall folga?
Open Settings, go to Apps, find folga and click Uninstall.
That removes the program, the shortcuts, the startup task and folga's data folder. Changes you made with it stay as they are: if you want to revert any, use Undo in the history before uninstalling.
How does folga update itself?
With Check for updates on launch turned on in Settings, folga checks folga.dev when it opens and lets you know in the top bar when a new version is out. To check right away, go to Settings and then Check for updates now.
Every version is signed. folga only installs an update if the signature matches the key built into it, so a file swapped along the way is rejected.
How do I check that the file is genuine?
Only download from folga.dev. Then open PowerShell (right-click Start and choose Terminal, or Windows PowerShell on Windows 10) and run the command below. The result must match the code shown here.
